Lux Umbra began with a lifelong fascination with scent.

As a child, I spent hours experimenting with essential oils in my bedroom, discovering how fragrance could transform the atmosphere of a space. That early curiosity grew into a deep appreciation for the role scent plays in creating a home that feels calm, personal, and welcoming.

As I got older I became frustrated with candles that smelled OK but came in generic containers designed to be thrown away. I wanted to create candles that look as beautiful in your home as they smell.

Lux Umbra brings together fragrance, design, and sustainability. Each candle is created in a vessel designed to be kept and reused long after the wax has burned away.


Sustainability

Nature has always been a huge influence on my life. Years spent sailing, mountaineering, kayaking, and windsurfing gave me a deep connection to the sea and the natural world. That connection is reflected in our commitment to protecting it.

For every Lux Umbra product purchased, we plant a tree and remove a plastic bottle from the ocean. Our commitment to sustainability have been recognised with the Surfers Against Sewage Plastic Free Champion Award.

All our products are vegan-friendly and free from parabens, created with care for both your home and the world beyond it.
